In the world of model making, we all have our favorites: heavy tanks, imposing vehicles that have made history with their raw power. But today, I wanted to highlight a different piece, a mechanical curiosity that richly deserves a place in your display cases: the Ford 3-Ton M1918.

A little bit of history...
Designed at the end of World War I, the Ford 3-Ton M1918 is an unusual vehicle. Conceived as an ultra-lightweight, mass-produced version (inspired by the success of the Renault FT-17), it represents a bold attempt at miniaturization for its time. With its small crew and compact size, it has become a fascinating subject for anyone passionate about American military history.

The challenge of 3D design
Reproducing this tank using 3D printing was a real technical challenge. The challenge was to successfully capture the finesse of its running gear and the precision of the hull rivets. To further enhance the realism, I wanted to model the complete interior of the driver's compartment as well as the two Ford Model T engines that powered the vehicle. These elements, often invisible on standard models, allow the most dedicated among you to create scenes with open hoods or hatches, thus revealing the mechanical complexity of this tank. After several iterations and printing tests, I am proud to offer you this kit in 1/16, 1/35, and 1/72 scale.

Why add it to your collection?
Originality: This is a rare model that you don't see in every diorama.
Finish: Thanks to the precision of the high-quality resin, the details are crisp and ready to receive a beautiful patina.
Accessibility: Despite its real complexity, I have optimized the parts to facilitate assembly, so you can focus on the pleasure of painting.
