TORPEDO LAUNCHER FIRST MODELS US NAVY ELCO 80 1942-1943 KI

The US Navy Elco 80' Motor Torpedo Boat, Early Type is the production type based on their PT-103 design, made famous by President Kennedy's PT-109 incident. PT boats were widely used in the early stages of World War II, often used to disrupt the "Tokyo Express" causing havoc to the deployment of the Japanese Empire.

The boat is 80 feet (24.2 m) long with a beam of 20 feet 8 inches (7 m) and a displacement of 56 tons. Its three sets of 1,350 horsepower Packard 4M-2500 V12 gasoline engines allow for a top speed of 43 knots. Armaments included 533 mm x 4 torpedo tubes, two .50 caliber turrets x 2, and a single 20 mm Oerikon cannon. PT boats often received "customization" from their crews with additional weapons they could obtain.
