 The 155 mm AUF1 self-propelled howitzer is a heavy ground weapon developed by French industries or the Groupement des Industries de l'Armée de Terre (GIAT) in the 1970s. It is based on the modified chassis of the AMX-30B main battle tank and equipped with a 155 mm 39 caliber gun with an automatic loading system. It is also equipped with a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft gun mounted on the roof. They were used by the French army and also exported to Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Iraq used this howitzer against Iran during the Iran-Iraq War. It was also used as the main equipment of the French army during the peacekeeping operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992.
